Ka Bos Jongngi marks a major step towards building a more organised, accessible and citizen-friendly public transport system in Shillong. Launched with the vision that every citizen should have access to comfortable and affordable mobility, the service offers air-conditioned buses, real-time GPS tracking and online ticketing, while keeping fares affordable for the common citizen.

Since its launch, 30+ buses are operating across two routes, serving more than 6,000 daily riders. The service has received an overwhelmingly positive response, with 95% of commuters reporting satisfaction with their travel experience. This reflects the growing acceptance of reliable, comfortable and affordable public transport among the people of Shillong.

The expansion of Ka Bos Jongngi is already underway, with over 100 additional electric buses being added to the fleet. This includes 55 buses under the Government of India's PM eBus Sewa scheme and 60 buses being procured by the State Government, strengthening the commitment towards sustainable and green mobility.

With the planned expansion to five routes, the service aims to bring nearly 85% of Shillong's population within a 10–20 minute walk of a bus stop. Ka Bos Jongngi is therefore emerging as an important milestone in transforming Shillong's public transport system into one that is cleaner, more efficient, comfortable and accessible to all.
